About the Event

The CDC of Tampa, Inc. (CDC) and volunteer Fire Fighters will facilitate the Youth Fire Introduction Resources and Education (Youth F.I.R.E.) STEM Program. Youth F.I.R.E. will provide career exploration, fire science, short term certifications and mentorship.

15 local high school youth will learn about the Fire Department and be introduced to First Responder careers such as Police, Emergency Medical Technicians, and others emergency operations in a safe, supportive team environment. The Youth F.I.R.E. program consists of instructor led training and group activities where students will learn what it takes to be a first responder and gain awareness of science and math associated with fire and emergency safety.

Youth who are interested in a career as a Fire Fighter and/or First Responder should apply.  They will obtain certifications in First Aide/CPR, Fire Safety and ‘Bring Your A Game to Work.’

(Students must be entering high school this fall, a current high school student or a 2021 high school graduate)
